May I Help You?

"There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately...
no one knows what they are."
— W. Somerset Maugham

Oh, pshaw!

Mr. M. is just messing with you.

Everybody knows the rules —

1. Read stuff.

2. Write stuff.

3. Buy a pug.

Okay, okay, that last one is optional.

But you don’t have to listen to me.

Let’s see what Ray has to say…

“Just write every day of your life. Read intensely.
Then see what happens.
Most of my friends who are put on that diet
have very pleasant careers.”
~Ray Bradbury

Yeah, Ray thought pugs were optional, too.

PROMPT: Mayday, Mayday! Your manuscript is calling! Use those three special steps to rock your May writing goals.
